Not since 1983, when Tom Cruise donned a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers in the movie "Risky Business" have Ray-Bans been so hot. After a lull in the 90's, the original Ray-Ban Wayfarer returned in 2007 (along with a new ad campaign and more colors and patterns) and sales sky-rocketed.
Always a Hollywood favorite (Wayfarers graced the face of Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 movie Breakfast at Tiffany's), over the past two years, both Ray-Ban Wayfarers and their aviator sunglass line have experienced a revival of epic proportions in Hollywood.
The Ray-Ban revival has been a bit slower to catch on off the coasts, but we're predicting that the summer of 2010 will signal the tipping point for this American classic to catch-on outside of L.A. and New York.
